All donations are tax deductible.    Donate Here

St. Mary’s Park Greening is a group of residents working together to increase the number of trees and green, drought tolerant landscaping in the neighborhood.  We do this to have a positive environmental impact, to add beauty and improve safety in our neighborhood and get to know our neighbors.

Everyone who lives in St. Mary’s Park is welcome to participate!  Check out our Events and Projects pages for more details.

We did it! SMP Greening Awarded Community Challenge Grant

The Department of Public Works awarded SMP Greening's Community Challenge Grant in the amount of $148,000.  This city funded grant will add native and drought-tolerant plants, a walkway and protective features to the College Avenue medians.  It will also bring a mural designed and painted by neighborhood muralist, Matt Evans, to the retaining wall at the top of the hill.

College Ave Median Trees Receive a Healthy Report

Friends of the Urban Forest, a San Francisco based non-profit organization, is caring for the median trees until they are considered established (approximately 3 years).  After a windy winter, many of the Oak trees were leaning and many stakes were wobbly.  Friends of the Urban forest brought a volunteer group out to restake the trees, prune them and reapply mulch.  They give our trees a healthy report.  Thank you Friends of the Urban Forest and IVP volunteers.  We appreciate your work to keep our city green and healthy!
